About Dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy (Borir tok) Recipe

Borir tok is a bengali cuisine, The dried lentils dumpling is called "Bori" in bengali language . In our bengali culture the dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy i.e "borir tok" is very famous item, it served with plain rice. Here i am presents how to make "Borir tok" or the dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy.

Ingredients to make Dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy (Borir tok)

  • Bori / dried lentils dumplings 8piece
  • Mustered paste 1and1/2tbsp
  • Mustered oil 2tbsp
  • Five spice mixture(pancforon) 1tsp
  • Dry red chilli 1
  • salt as per taste
  • turmeric powder 1pinch
  • Turmarind pulp 3tbsp
  • Green chilli 1
  • water 1cup
  • sugar 1/2tsp

How to make Dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy (Borir tok)

  1. Heat e pan, add dried lentils dumplings and fried about 2minutes in low flame.
  2. Remove the dumplings from the pan and add mustered oil.
  3. Add five spices mixture, (panchforon) and dry red chilli. Then add mustered paste, turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
  4. Cook it for 2minutes and add dried lentils dumplings, saute it.
  5. Then add water for boiling the dumplings.
  6. After boiled the dumplings, add termarind pulp, sugar, one green chilli and cook it for 2minutes.
  7. The dried lentils dumplings with sour gravy is ready to be served with rice.
