Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Lentils (spilt urad)dumplings 12 nos.
  2. Mustard seed 1tblsp
  3. Poppy seeds 2tblsp
  4. Green chilli 6/7
  5. Tomato, chopped 1
  6. Onion seed 1/2tsp
  7. Mustard oil as required

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add dumplings, simmer the heat, fry till reddish brown, keep aside.
  2. Add onion seed to temper in the same oil, after the aroma, comes out add chopped tomato, add salt and a little sugar, keep sauntering till the tomato melts.
  3. Mean while make a paste of mustard seeds, poppy seeds and green chilli.
  4. Add a little water, turmeric, a little salt again.boil in high heat.
  5. Add the fried dumplings when the water is reduced,don't boil too much, as the dumplings will break.
  6. Add the paste and mustard oil Quickly stir and switch off the gas so as to retain the raw flavour of seed and mustard oil.
  7. Add slitted green chilli and cover with a lid for few mins.
  8. Serve with hot rice
