This recipe is also my favourite recipe from my mom's Kitchen.Its a daily recipe in bengali cuisine.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Pabda fish- 4 pieces (medium size)
  2. Bori(Sundried lentil dumpling)- 4 pieces
  3. Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon + 1 pinch for marinate
  4. Salt to taste
  5. cumin powder- 1 teaspoon
  6. Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
  7. Green chilli(slited)- 2 pieces
  8. Onion seeds- 1 teaspoon
  9. Tomato(finely chopped)- 1 medium
  10. Coriander leaves(chopped)- 1 handful
  11. Mustard oil- 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder.Keep aside.
  2. Take oil in a pan.Allow to heat.
  3. Add bori and fry until it becomes golden brown.
  4. Then fry the fish and keep aside.
  5. Now add onion seeds and green chilli slits in leftover hot oil.
  6. Allow it to leave a nice aroma.
  7. Then add tomato and season with salt.
  8. Add turmeric, cumin and coriander powder.
  9. Saute until oil comes out from spices.
  10. Then add hot water.
  11. Cook for few minutes.
  12. Add fried fish and bori.
  13. Adjust the salt.
  14. Finish with coriander leaves.
