About Raw Banana Asharfiya (Rings) Recipe

Raw Banana Rings are a traditional dish made in UP. Khuskhus has been used to add a lovely flavour to the dish.

Raw Banana Asharfiya (Rings)

Ingredients to make Raw Banana Asharfiya (Rings)

  • 2- Raw bananas (boiled and mashed)
  • 1-Boiled potatoes (mashed)
  • 100 gms grated cottage cheese
  • 2 tsp mixed dry fruits finely chopped
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A pinch of cumin seeds powder
  • A pinch of coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh coriander
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Pure ghee
  • 2 capsicum big size
  • 1 tomato big size
  • 1 tsp khuskhus
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

How to make Raw Banana Asharfiya (Rings)

  1. Mix raw banana, potatoes and paneer. Add all the spices.
  2. Add fresh coriander, corn flour and dry fruits. Mix.
  3. Heat little ghee and saute the potatoes and raw banana mixture for 2 mins. Turn off the heat and let cool.
  4. Fill the mixture gently into the hollowed capsicum and tomato.
  5. Now, cut 1-inch thick rings from the capsicum and tomato.
  6. Coat each ring with khuskhus. Shallow fry the prepared rings.
  7. Serve.

My Tip:

Capsicum and tomato should be fresh and a little firm, in order to cut them for asharfiya.
