Ingredients to make Atte ka Halwa

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Cups water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped mixed dry fruits (kaju, badam, pista, kishmish)

How to make Atte ka Halwa

  1. Heat a pan, add 2 tbsp ghee and wheat flour. Roast on low flame till the flour attains a golden brown colour.
  2. Add water slowly and whisk with the hand whisker on low flame. Halwa should not be lumpy.
  3. Now add sugar, cook for 5-6 minutes. Add cardamom powder, kishmish and pista, mix well.
  4. Don't cook too much because it thickens more on cooling.
  5. In another pan heat 1 tbsp ghee, fry the cashew and almonds and pour it over the halwa.

My Tip:

While adding the water, whisk vigorously otherwise the halwa will be lumpy.
