About Punjabi rajma chawal Recipe

Rajma or kidney beans with rice, is one of the most preferred punjabi combination and is absolutely delicious, so here is how i make it at home.

Ingredients to make Punjabi rajma chawal

  • 1.5 cup rajma [kidney beans] soaked overnight
  • 2 tomato paste
  • 1 onion paste
  • 3 tsp ginger,garlic,green chilli paste
  • 2 tsp coriander powder,red chillipowder,turmeric ,garam masala,
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp kasuri methi
  • 2 tsp fresh green coariander
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 1.5 cup rice
  • 2 tsp zeera

How to make Punjabi rajma chawal

  1. First pressure cook rajma with some salt and water for 15 min
  2. For gravy add oil in pan add ginger garlic paste and cook then add tomato onion paste and cook it oil comes out then add dry spices and then add rajma and mix all well.
  3. Cook rajma by covering it for 10-12 min then add kasuri methi and fresh coariander
  4. For rice add 1 tsp oil then add zeera then add rice and add double quantity of water and cook till rice get double in quantity and water evaporates.
  5. Serve hot rajma with rice or naam or roti.
