About Kadai Chicken Recipe

A very delicious recipe of chicken loved by everyone.

Kadai Chicken

Ingredients to make Kadai Chicken

  • Marination for chicken
  • 500 gms chicken
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp oil
  • For the gravy
  • 2tbsp butter + 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 laung, 2 pieces of cinnamon, 1 black cardamom
  • 2 big onion finely chopped
  • 8 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato roughly chopped
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 inch ginger roughly chopped
  • Handful of chopped coriander leaves
  • Handful of chopped mint leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2tbsp red chilli powder

How to make Kadai Chicken

  1. First clean the chicken and marinate it with the ingredients mentioned under marination for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Next step is to start preparing for the gravy. Take a heavy bottom vessel and keep it on gas.
  3. Put butter + oil and let it get hot. Then add laung, cinnamon, black cardamom crushed. After few minutes put onion, garlic and Saute till it turns light brown in colour.
  4. Then add marinated chicken and Saute till the chicken becomes white in colour
  5. Grind into a paste tomato, green chilli, ginger,red chilli powder and coriander powder
  6. Then add this paste into the chicken and saute till the oil oozes out.
  7. Then add coriander and mint leaves . Mix well.
  8. Add 1 glass of water and mix well. Add salt and keep it on sim till the chicken gets cooked.
  9. It will take around 20 minutes approximately for chicken to cook on sim.
  10. Check the consistency of the gravy. If its too thick then add water.
  11. Serve hot with roti or rice.

My Tip:

Keep the gravy little thick as it will be more tasty either if you eat with rice or roti
