Rajma chawal is a famous north indian dish which is cooked in every house.

Rajma Chawal

Ingredients to make Rajma Chawal

  • 2 cup rajma (kidney beans)
  • 1 big onion, chopped
  • 1/2 big tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp corriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp curry masala
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • salt to taste

How to make Rajma Chawal

  1. Soak the rajma overnight. Next day, in a pressure cooker you can boil the rajma for 2/3 whistle.
  2. Heat a wok, add in oil and add cumin seeds, chopped onions. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for some more time and add the chopped tomatoes.
  4. Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add salt and all the masala and cook till the masala is ready.
  5. Add the boiled rajma and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped corriander leaves.
  6. Serve Rajma with white rice.
