Punjabi Fish Fry Curry

Ingredients to make Punjabi Fish Fry Curry

  • 1Kg Fish (surmayi/singhara)
  • 1tsp turmeric
  • 2 lemon juice
  • 1tsp Green chilli paste
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp coriander powder
  • 1tsp Garam masala Powder
  • 1tsp cumin seeds
  • oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp chickpea Flour
  • 1tsp corn flour
  • 2 tomatoes puree
  • 1 onion puree
  • 3-4tsp curd
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Punjabi Fish Fry Curry

  1. Marinate fish with salt, pepper, chickpea flour, corn flour, turmeric, 1lemon juice and redi chilli powder. Let sit for 2hrs.
  2. Fry fish until golden brown.
  3. In a wok, heat oil and add cumin seeds, Ginger-Garlic paste, onion and tomato puree and saute till oil separates.
  4. Add little water and add salt, pepper, garam masala, turmeric, lemon juice, red chilli powder and green chillies. Cover and cook.
  5. Add water as required and cook until oil separates.
  6. Add fried fish and cook for another 2mins. Switch off the flame. Garnish with fresh Coriander leaves.
