About Pyaz Tamatar Tikkad Recipe

Tikkad is a typical Rajasthani bread which is not only healthy but is also yummy. Pyaz Tamatar Tikkad is made with onions and tomatoes stuffed within the maize flour .

Ingredients to make Pyaz Tamatar Tikkad

  • 2 tablespoon maize flour
  • 4 tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1 inch pc ginger (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves (chopped)
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 3 tablespoon ghee
  • water (for kneading the dough)

How to make Pyaz Tamatar Tikkad

  1. Take a bowl. Add whole wheat flour and maize flour. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, green chilli and coriander leaves. Add 1 tablespoon ghee.
  2. Add salt and red chilli powder. Knead the dough using water.
  3. Heat a tava. Add some ghee. Take a ball size dough. Put on tava. Spread in the shape of chapati using hands.
  4. Cook from both sides using ghee. Drizzle ghee when it gets cooked.
  5. Serve with green chutney and curry of your choice.
