About Murg Rashida Recipe

This is very unique and tasty recipe of chicken. The use of chicken and egg at the same time, makes the dish more delicious.

Murg Rashida

Ingredients to make Murg Rashida

  • chicken with bones 500 gm.
  • Marinade :
  • 2 tsp ginger paste
  • 2 tsp garlic paste
  • 3-4 green chilli paste
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • vinegar 3 tbsp
  • salt 1 tbsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • For gravy :
  • 2 large onion- ground to a paste
  • 2 large tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 egges - beaten well
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 8-10 cashewnuts - fried and coarsely crushed
  • 1 TBSP KASURI methi
  • oil
  • For Tempering :
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2-3 cardamom sticks

How to make Murg Rashida

  1. Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and put the chicken in it. Mix well to coat evently . Keep aside for 1 hour.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and add bay leaves and cardamoms.
  3. Then add the onion paste and fry until golden.
  4. Now add tomato puree and stir fry for sometimes, until oil separates.
  5. Add the chicken and garam masala powder and fry it until the chicken turns brown.
  6. Pour sufficient amount of hot water , cover and cook on a low heat until the chicken is tender.
  7. Now heat 1 tbsp of oil in another pan and add beaten eggs into it. Stir continuously, so that the egg cooks in tiny shreds.
  8. Now add the crushed cashews, cream, kasuri methi and shredded eggs into the chicken.
  9. Simmer for sometimes and turn off the heat.
  10. Now serve the chicken with roti or rice.
