Matar (white peas)

Ingredients to make Matar (white peas)

  • matar 2cups
  • oil
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • cumin powder 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Dried mango powder 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp
  • Jal jeera powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp

How to make Matar (white peas)

  1. Boil matar in a pressure cooker for upto 5 whistles.
  2. In a separate pan, heat some oil.
  3. Add cumin seeds, cumin powder, salt, red chilly powder, dried mango powder, chaat masala, jal jeera powder and garam masala to the oil and cook for a minute or two.
  4. After the 5 whistles of the cooker are over, put the tadka in it and just keep it on flane for 5 mins.
  5. Your yummy tasty and easy matar are ready to be served with naan or kulchas.
