Chingri malaikari is a very famous and popular Bengali dish served with white Rice or Pulao for lunch or dinner on special occasions

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fried prwan 500 grams
  2. Potato 3nos chopped in slices
  3. Onion 3 medium size finely chopped
  4. 1 Tomato medium size finely chopped
  5. for Masala onion 3 medium size chopped roughly 1 inch ginger 14 garlic pods 1 inch cinnamon 2 Cardamom 2 cloves 1 red Chilli whole 1 green Chilli
  6. 1 cinnamon crushed
  7. 1 cardamom crushed
  8. 1 Cup Coconut Milk
  9. 1 bay leaf
  10. Sugar 1 tsp
  11. 2 cup water
  12. Mustard 3tbsp
  13. Coriander leaves chopped 1 tsp for garnishing
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take a heavy bottom fry pan add oil,once heated sugar and let it camremilze
  2. Now add crushed cinnamon, Cardamom and bay leaf
  3. Immediately add chopped onion's and sauté
  4. Now add tomoto to and cook till its mushy
  5. Now add masala paste and other powder masala to it
  6. Now Add potato and fried prwan
  7. Saute it till all raw smell of masala
  8. Now add coconut milk and let dries up and oil start coming from sides
  9. Now add water and bring this whole thing to a good boil, cover and simmer till oil floats on top.Boil for 10 Minutes
  10. garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.Serve hot with rice/pulao of your choice.
