Fusion Spaghetti and Meatballs in Marinara sauce is an Indo- Italian recipe. Authentic preparation of Marinara sauce of Italy and Indian style of making fried meatballs dunked in sauce and served with boiled spaghetti noodles with grated Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Meatballs
  2. Minced meat 400 grams
  3. Egg 1
  4. bread crumbs 1/4 cup
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  6. Onion chopped 1
  7. Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup curry leaves 1 sprig
  8. Green chillies 2
  9. Tumeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Oil for frying
  12. For making Marinara sauce
  13. Olive oil 2 tablespoon
  14. White onion 1
  15. Garlic cloves chopped 2
  16. Mixed Italian herbs 1/2 teaspoon
  17. Tomato 1 diced
  18. Tomato puree 1 can
  19. Water 1 cup
  20. For Spaghetti noodles
  21. Spaghetti noodles 1 packet
  22. Parmesan cheese 50 grams grated
  23. Yellow bell pepper 1
  24. Red bell pepper 1
  25. Mint for garnish
  26. Oil 1/2 teaspoon
  27. Salt to taste
  28. Water 5 Cups

Instructions

  1. In a large sauce pan, heat the olive oil and add the chopped onions. Saute for 1 or 2 minutes until the onions soften, then add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Add mixed herbs, salt, diced tomatoes and salt to taste. Stir for a minute. Add water and mix well.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil over medium high heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover it and cook till it's done.
  4. Sauce is ready.
  5. For the Meatballs
  6. In a large bowl using a fork, combine all the meatball ingredients. Gently mix with a fork or hand to blend all the ingredients well, without over mixing.
  7. Apply little oil in palm and make round balls out of the meat mixture. Fry in medium hot oil till it's golden brown. Keep it aside.
  8. For making Spaghetti noodles
  9. Boil 5 cups of water with little salt and oil. Add Spaghetti noodles to it for boil for few minutes till it's partially cooked. Drain in a colander and wash the noodles on running cold water to avoid sticking each other.
  10. Assembly
  11. Add fried meatballs in Marinara sauce before serving. Garnish Spaghetti noodles with red, yellow pepper and mint leaves. Add grated Parmesan cheese on top of the noodles and on meatballs in sauce.
