ABOUT Soya dolma in marinara sauce RECIPE

Dolma is a middle eastern delicacy. It is very healthy , steamed dish. Basically it is made with beef but here i made it with soya granules and with loads of vegetables. I added home made marinara sauce in the stuffing ,which gives it spicy and tangy taste too .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For marinara sauce
  2. 2 tablespoon olive oil
  3. 1 finely chopped onion
  4. Two large garlic peeled and chopped
  5. 5 Tomatoes
  6. 1 cup Tomato puree
  7. One tablespoon tomato sauce
  8. One tablespoon dried oregano
  9. One teaspoon Red Pepper flakes
  10. Salt to taste
  11. For soya dolma
  12. Cabbage 1
  13. 1 cup boiled soya granules
  14. 1Cup boiled short grain rice
  15. 1/2cup grated carrot
  16. 1onion finally chopped
  17. 2 finely chopped spring onion
  18. Some threads of spring onion
  19. 1 green chilli finely chopped
  20. 1 cup marinara sauce
  21. 1 table spoon chilli flakes
  22. salt as per taste


  1. Blanch tomatoes
  2. Peel tomatoes
  3. Grind them in the grinder and make a smooth puree and keep aside
  4. Add olive oil in a thick bottom pan
  5. Add onion and Saute them
  6. Add garlic ,soute them
  7. Now add pureed tomatoes , tomato puree tomato sauce and cook for 5 to 6 minutes .
  8. Add oregano ,chilli flakes and salt .
  9. Cook for 10 minutes on low flame . Keep aside for later use .
  10. For dolma
  11. Cut cabbage head carefully .
  12. Boil cabbage in a deep pan in salted water with a lid for 15 minutes or till tender.
  13. Put it in cold water
  14. Take out or peel big cabbage leaves from cabbage head.
  15. Take a big bowl add rice ,soya granules , onion , spring onion , carrot , salt , chilli flakes , and marinara sauce .
  16. Mix it properly .Add salt and mix well .
  17. Now spread a cabbage leaf
  18. Place 2 table spoon soya rice mixture on it .
  19. Now roll it tightly like spring roll.
  20. Make all cabbage rolls like this.
  21. Tie them with spring onion threads .
  22. Now steam all rolls for 15 to 20 minutes or till tender and soft.
  23. Now take out them and serve them hot with marinara sauce .
