Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dates - 12
  2. Kismish [raisins] 100g
  3. Rai [mustard seeds] 3 spoon
  4. Imli [tamarind] 80g
  5. Gud [jaggery] 50g
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Red chilli powder 1 spoon
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Cloves 2
  10. Cinnamon 1
  11. Green cardamom 3
  12. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  13. Spinach [blanched] - 5 cups
  14. Mustard oil 1 to 2 spoon

Instructions

  1. Chop the dates and soak them in water for 5 minutes as well as soak the tamarind in 1 cup of water, in a separate bowl . Once soaked enough, squeeze out the pulp from the tamarind.
  2. Soak the jaggery in 1 cup of water and let this dissolve completely. Once dissolved, then add 1 tsp of mustard oil, cinnamon, cloves, green cardamom . Cook this mixture on a medium heat, then add red chilly powder, turmeric powder and the tamarind pulp.
  3. Cook this mixture further, then add the dates, raisins, and cook for 5 minutes. Then add the blanched spinach, salt , cook for few more minutes until thick. Grind the mustard seeds into a powder and add this to the curry.
  4. Cook for few seconds and then serve hot.
