About Dimer Chop / Egg Devil Recipe

Popular street snack of kolkata. It is called egg devil chop too. Usually its like a big bomb of goodness.

Dimer Chop / Egg Devil

Ingredients to make Dimer Chop / Egg Devil

  • Hard boiled 4 eggs cut into 2 halves
  • boiled and mashed potatoes - 2
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • ginger, garlic and minced green chilli - 1 tsp
  • Dry roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • fresh coriander leaves [handful]
  • besan - 1 cup
  • baking soda a pinch of it .
  • chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • hing [ 1/8 th tsp]
  • turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Refined oil [for frying]

How to make Dimer Chop / Egg Devil

  1. Take some oil in a wok and add chopped onions, ginger garlic and green chilli. Fry them for 3 mins.
  2. Then add the mashed potatoes and salt to taste.
  3. Mix them well in the wok and add the fresh chopped corriander. Add the dry roasted cumin and take it out of the gas oven.
  4. Take the egg halves and on one side put a dollop of Masala mashed potato and shape it up.
  5. Take the besan and put hing, salt, haldi and red chilli powder to it. Mix with water and make a batter.
  6. Dip the eggs in the batter and fry them in white oil.
  7. Serve it with tomato ketchup spices onion slices.
