About Topse Fish batter Fry Recipe

Topse is a favourite fish of the bengalies and it is relished when fried and taken with dal and rice.

Topse Fish batter Fry

Ingredients to make Topse Fish batter Fry

  • Topse fish - 10
  • Bengal gram powder 100 gms.
  • rice powder 50 gms.
  • baking soda a pinch of it.
  • Nigella seeds - 1 tsp
  • White oil for frying.
  • Hing [asafoetida] - 1 pinch
  • Dry red chillies - 2
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make Topse Fish batter Fry

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and haldi. Keep it for 10 mins.
  2. Lil vinegar can be added to the marination.
  3. In a bowl take besan and put nigella seeds, red chilli flakes & salt
  4. Add a pinch of baking soda and also the rice powder to it. Pour water and make a thick batter.
  5. Dip the fishes in the batter and deep fry them.
  6. Once it's done serve it with white rice and some plain masoor dal.

My Tip:

Rice powder if mixed wirh besan, it gives an extra crunchy effect.
