Ingredients to make Topshe Fry (Mango-Fish fry)

  • mango fish (topse fish) 8 medium ones
  • garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • ginger paste 1 teaspoon
  • onion paste 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili paste 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Gram flower 3 tablespoons
  • salt
  • mustard oil

How to make Topshe Fry (Mango-Fish fry)

  1. Marinate the fish with ginger, garlic, onion and green chili paste adding little salt for minimum 30 minutes.
  2. Next mix the gram flour with red chili powder and a pinch of salt with water. Make a thick uniform batter.
  3. Heat oil in a wok and when oil is almost heated add a little of that oil to the batter and mix well to make the fries more crispy.
  4. When done take the fish one by one and dip in batter properly and fry in the oil. Both sides a minimum of 3 minutes in medium flame.
  5. Enjoy with tea or with plain rice and ghee!

My Tip:

When marinating, poke the fish with a fork for the spices to soak in. And put on extra batter to give a proper layer to the fries.
