ABOUT Aam ka gudamma RECIPE

It's a traditional khatta-mitha achar. The name suggests (gud+aam)

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Kaccha aam-500 gm
  2. Jaggrey-2 cup or as required
  3. Panch foran-1 tsp
  4. Fenugreek seed-1 tsp
  5. Water-1/2 cup
  6. Funnel seed-2 tsp
  7. Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
  8. Hing a pinch
  9. Salt as required
  10. Musturd oil-1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the methi dana, funnel seed and powdered them in the grinder. Keep aside.
  2. Wash and peel the mangoes and cut them in small pieces.discard the seeds.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.add hing and panch phoran. When it splutters add the mangoes, water and jaggery and stir frequently.add salt.
  4. Let it simmer. Boil for 5-10 minutes till the mangoes have softened and the syrup gets thicker.
  5. Add powdered masaale, red chilly powder, after 5 minutes off the flame.gudamma is ready to eat. Cool in room temperature and preserve in air tight jar.
