ABOUT Kairi Ka Dopyaza... RECIPE

An awesome side dish with raw mangoes that is a must have in this season of king of fruits-the mango. Tangy and delicious gravy that leaves you licking your fingers with it's mindblowing taste. Made with few simple ingredients, the use of mutton can be skipped. It still tastes the same even without it. The star ingredient being the raw mango, the use of meat does not alter it's taste by any means. Use of tomatoes is also purely optional.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raw mangoes 3
  2. Tomatoes chopped small 2
  3. Onions sliced thinly 6-7
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  5. Oil 3 tbsp
  6. Mutton bone-in 1/2 kg
  7. Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  9. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  10. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  11. Salt 1 tbsp
  12. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup


  1. Pressure cook mutton with ginger garlic paste and half of salt and oil used in this recipe.
  2. Set it aside to cool down after done.
  3. In a pan, heat the rest of the oil and add the sliced onions along with the spices used.
  4. After they are nicely sauteed for about 10-12 minutes, throw in the chopped tomatoes.
  5. Saute them all well until done.
  6. Now add sliced raw mangoes along with the seed.
  7. Later the seed can be discarded.
  8. Cover and simmer until tomatoes get cooked in their own juices.
  9. After oil starts separating, add the mutton bone-in to the sauteed tomatoes and raw mangoes mix.
  10. Adjust salt accordingly and mix everything well.
  11. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  12. Cover and simmer for just 4-5 more minutes before serving it hot with either plain boiled rice or phulkas.
