Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 2 cups rice, soaked for 30 minutes
  2. whole garam masala:
  3. green cardamoms 2
  4. black cardamoms 2
  5. cloves 2
  6. cinnamon 2
  7. mace 1
  8. bay leaf 1
  9. black peppercorns 1/4 tsp
  10. ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  11. green chilis 1
  12. chopped vegetables any choice, cut into pieces
  13. chopped onion 1 small
  14. Curd 1 cup
  15. mint 1 tbsp chopped roughly
  16. coriander leaves 2 tbsp chopped
  17. oil 2 tbsp
  18. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In the rice cooker pot, add the rice and the correct amount of water and soak for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a pan heat oil. Once hot add whole garam masala.
  3. Once it starts to smell, add onions and green chilis, and saute till translucent.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and stir till raw smell goes away.
  5. Add mint and coriander leaves, stir, then add vegetables and mix. Add curd and stir.
  6. Add vegetable mixture to rice cooker and gently stir adding salt to taste. Cook till timer goes off.
  7. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve with raita.
