Residing country - USA , My grandmom always used ti make this roti in winters . I always miss the taste of this roti in winters. My childhood days this roti is like healthy biscuit for us . In my family we all love this gud wali bajre ki roti . It is very nutritious . When i got pearl millet flour here in USA , that reminds me india and i made it .

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup bajre ka atta ( pearl millet flour)
  2. 3/4 cup grated jaggery
  3. 2 tsp dry ginger powder
  4. 2 tsp fennel seeds
  5. Clarified butter 2 tbsp
  6. Water as required
  7. Clarified butter for cooking
  8. 4-5 cashew nuts chopped


  1. First in a pot add 1 cup water , now add grated jaggery to it. Put it on medium flame and cook until jaggery desolve properly . Turn off the gas . Let it cool until Luke warm.
  2. Now in a big bowl , add pearl millet flour . Now add dry ginger powder ,fennel seeds and 2 tbsp clarified butter . Mix all ingredients well.
  3. Now add jaggery water little by lilltle ane make a dough .
  4. Take a small portion of dough and make a ball . Now take butter paper and put this ball on it.
  5. Now cover it with another butter paper and roll it with roller pin gently and make a roti shape .
  6. Now take a tawa /pan , put this roti on it and cook it from both sides by using clarified butter.
  7. Gud Ali bajre di rotti is ready to serve . Enjoy with cashew nuts and give your kids too instead of biscuits .
