About Bhape Chingri Recipe

A delicious dish of steamed prawns, cooked in a light yet spicy spices that is a delight to the palette.

Bhape Chingri

Ingredients to make Bhape Chingri

  • Prawns (washed and peeled) - 12
  • mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Grated coconut - 3 tbsp
  • green chillies - 6
  • salt
  • sugar
  • mustard oil
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make Bhape Chingri

  1. Marinate the prawns in turmeric powder and salt for 30 minutes.
  2. Now make a paste of the mustard seeds, coconut, green chillies, sugar and salt with some water.
  3. Add this paste to the marinated prawns and transfer this to a microwaveable/oven proof bowl.
  4. Add some mustard oil to the above mixture and cook in a microwave for 6-8 minutes or for 20 minutes at 200 degrees celsius in a preheated oven.
  5. Sprinkle some mustard oil on top and serve.
