ABOUT PANEER LABABDAR RECIPE

Paneer Lababdar is commonly found in all restaurant menus. Ideally this is made with a smooth gravy, just like our makhani gravy. But this time i decided to twist it a bit. Used chunky base for gravy & it turned out just perfect.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250gms paneer, cut in 1 inch cubes
  2. 1 large onion, grated
  3. 1 medium tomato, grated
  4. 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  5. 1/2 inch ginger, finely chopped
  6. 2 green chillies, roughly chopped
  7. 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  9. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  11. 1 teaspoon Kitchen king masala powder
  12. 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste
  13. 2 tablespoon oil
  14. 2 tablespoon butter
  15. 12-15 cashewnuts, roasted & powdered
  16. 1 tabespoon kasuri methi, roasted & crush with hands before adding
  17. 3 tablespoon fresh cream
  18. WHOLE. spices
  19. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  20. 2 green cardamon
  21. 3-4 cloves
  22. 6-8 black peppercorns
  23. 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. HEAT OIL & BUTTER IN A PAN. ADD THE PANEER PIECES & FRY THEM
  2. ONCE THEY TURN GOLDER, REMOVE FROM PAN & KEEP ASIDE
  3. TO THE SAME OIL ADD WHOLE SPICES. SAUTE FOR 30 SECONDS
  4. NEXT ADD THE CHOPPED GINGER, GARLIC & CHILLIES. SAUTE FOR A MINUTE.
  5. NOW ADD THE GRATED ONION & SAUTE THEM UNTIL THEY TURN GOLDEN BROWN
  6. THEN ADD THE GRATED TOMATO
  7. ADD RED CHILLI POWDER, SALT, TURMERIC & CORIANDER POWDER.
  8. MIX THIS WELL & ALLOW THIS TO COOK TILL THE OIL/FAT STARTS TO LEAVE OIL/FATS
  9. ONCE THE MASALA IS WELL BHUNOED, ADD CASHEW POWDER & ROAST FOR A MINUTE.
  10. THEN ADD 1/4 CUP WATER
  11. & CREAM. COOK FOR 2 MINUTES
  12. NEXT ADD THE GARAM MASALA, KITCHEN KING MASALA,
  13. 1/4 CUP MILK & COOK FOR A MINUTE
  14. ADD THE KASURI METHI
  15. ADD THE FRIED PANEER PIECES. MIX EVERYTHING WELL
  16. SIMMER FOR 3-4 MINUTES & IT'S READY TO BE SERVED
