ABOUT Rice kheer (less ingredients) RECIPE

When you don't have all the ingredients to make a shahi kheer, try on this recipe which does not require extra ingredients to make the kheer tasty. Serve it cool in lunch in summers.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk - 1l
  2. Basmati rice - 1/2 glass
  3. sugar - 2 to 3 cups
  4. peanut paste - 1 cup
  5. cardamom powder - 1 tspn
  6. Grated coconut - 1 to 2 tspn
  7. raisins - 10 to 12

Instructions

  1. BOIL MILK BY STIRRING
  2. SOAK BASMATI RICE BEFOREHAND FOR HALF AN HOUR IN WATER
  3. NOW ADD THIS SOAKED RICE IN MILK SLOWLY
  4. ALLOW THE MILK TO BOIL, KEEP ON STIRRING. SLOW THE FLAME AND COOK FOR 10 MIN
  5. ADD SUGAR AND MIX PROPERLY, KEEP CHECKING IF THE RICE IS COOKED
  6. TAKE SOAKED PEANUTS
  7. AND MASH THEM, YOU CAN MAKE PEANUT PASTE AS WELL. USE THE COVER OR REMOVE THEM
  8. NOW ADD THIS MASHED PEANUT INTO THE MILK
  9. THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS, ALLOW THE KHEER TO THICKEN MORE
  10. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  11. GRATED DRY COCONUTS
  12. ADD RAISINS, ONCE THE KHEER THICKENS SWITCH OFF AND ALLOW TO COOL
