ABOUT Moongfali Ki Chikki RECIPE

Moongfali chikki is a healthy, delicious traditional candy made from peanuts and jaggery. It can be eaten alone or with snacks and is a perfect replacement for chocolates. This recipe uses jaggery to make crisper chikkis in easier way.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup groundnut
  2. 1 cup jaggery
  3. 1 tsp ghee

Instructions

  1. ROAST 1 CUP GROUNDNUT IN A PAN ON MEDIUM FLAME.
  2. STIR CONSTANTLY TO PREVENT BURNING. TURN OFF FLAME AND COOL FOR 5 MINUTES.
  3. ROMOVE THE SKIN OF GROUNDNUT. KEEP IT ASIDE.
  4. GREASE REVERSE SIDE OF A BIG PLATE AND ROLLING PIN WITH GHEE.
  5. HEAT 1 TSP GHEE ADD 1 CUP JAGGERY.
  6. STIR CONTINUOUSLY ON LOW FLAME. WHEN JAGGERY DISSOLVES, STIR AND COOK FOR 5 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME
  7. CHECK CONSISTENCY OF DISSOLVED JAGGERY BY DROPPING A SMALL DROP OF IT IN WATER. IF DROP TURNS SOLID
  8. TURN OFF FLAME AND ADD PEANUT HALVES ARE COATED WITH DISSOLVED JAGGERY.
  9. POUR MIXTURE OVER PREVIOUS GREASED PLATE.
  10. QUICK FLAT WITH SPATULA.
  11. QUICKLY ROLL THE MIXTURE FLAT USING ROLLING PIN.
  12. MAKE CUT WITH KNIFE.
  13. MAKE APPROX PARALLEL HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CUTS WITH KNIFE WHILE SPREAD IS STILL HOT.
  14. WHEN COOLED, BREAK IT INTO PIECES.
  15. WHEN PIECES COOLED, STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
  16. ENJOY MOONGFALI CHIKKI WHENEVER YOU LIKE.
