ABOUT Broccoli Bechamel Doria RECIPE

Doria is basically a 'Gratin' made with rice, instead of macaroni. It is a popular dish in Japan. Bechamel is one of the classic French "mother sauce", I used here broccoli in this sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. FOR BROCCOLI BECHAMEL SAUCE- butter 1 1/2 tbsp
  2. 1 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. garlic 2 cloves
  5. Bay leaf 1
  6. Broccoli florets 1/2 cup
  7. pepper powder 1/4 tsp
  8. salt 1/2 tsp
  9. FOR FRIED rice- white rice 1/2 cup
  10. oil 1 tbsp
  11. tomato 1/4 cup
  12. Green pepper 1/4 cup
  13. carrot 1/4 cup
  14. Green peas 1/4 cup
  15. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. ADD 1 TBSP BUTTER, 1 BAY LEAF AND GARLIC. COOK 1 MINUTE
  2. ADD 1 TBSP FLOUR AND 1 CUP MILK. COOK TILL THICKENED
  3. ADD BROCCOLI, SALT AND PEPPER. COOK FOR 10 MORE MINUTES.
  4. THICK CREAMY SAUCE IS READY
  5. REMOVE BAY LEAF. GRIND SAUCE COARSELY.
  6. COOK 1/2 C RICE
  7. ADD 1 TBSP OIL. COOK 1/4 C GREEN PEAS FOR 2 MINUTES.
  8. ADD 1/4 C BELL PEPPER AND 1/4 C CARROT. SAUTE FOR 3-4 MINUTES.
  9. ADD 1/4 C TOMATOES. ADD SALT.
  10. ADD RICE. ADJUST SALT.
  11. TAKE OUT RICE IN OVEN SAFE TIFFIN BOX.
  12. POUR CREAMY BROCCOLI SAUCE ON TOP.
  13. ADD PIZZA CHEESE SLICE ON TOP.
  14. BAKE AT 220'C FOR 20 MINUTES.
