ABOUT Kerela style irda (rice cake) RECIPE

Kerela's rice cake is traditionally made with rice paste and cooked rice but it is a quick version of irda which we can enjoy in breakfast and tea time as well.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cup suji
  2. 1 cup curd
  3. 1 tsp baking powder
  4. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. 2 tbsp cashew pieces
  7. 2 tbsp kishmish
  8. 2 tsp peanuts
  9. For tadka--
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. 1/2 tsp hing
  12. 7-8 curry leaves
  13. Coriander leaves
  14. Cherry tomato
  15. And green chilli for garnish

Instructions

  1. ADD TWO CUP SUJI IN A BOWL
  2. ADD ONE CUP THICK CURD
  3. AND WATER AND MIX THEM AND KEEP FOR 30 MIN.
  4. HEAT OIL IN PAN
  5. ADD HING RAI
  6. AND CURRY LEAVES
  7. ADD HALF TADKA IN BATTER
  8. KISHMIS ,KAJU AND PEANUTS
  9. ADD BAKING POWDER ,BAKING SODA
  10. AND SALT
  11. COOK IN STEAMER FOR 20 MIN. OR KNIFE COMES OUT CLEAN
  12. OUR IRDA IS READY
  13. GARNISH WITH CHERRY TOMATO AND CHILLI
  14. AND CORIANDER LEAVES
  15. SERVE WITH GREEN CHUTNEY
