In this Christmas eve, surprise your kids with these cute and delicious Dora cake or pancakes. Ready in 5 minutes. Pancakes or Griddlecake or hotcakes are eaten in almost every part of the world in various forms and preparations. The basic recipe remains similar and is made using a starch based batter which may or may not contain eggs. The batter is then cooked on a hot pan or grilled and fried in a flavourful fat like butter or oil. Flavouring of the batter depends on your personal choice and fruits, dry fruits, chocolate etc are often added to it. A very famous type of Pancake is the Dorayaki or the Dora cakes. They are very popular in Japan and almost like a sweet sandwich. It consists of red bean pancake like patties filled with a sweet filling and are often served hot. These pancakes have gained popularity over the years, a Japanese animated character called Doraemon loves eating these and it is shown as his favourite food. Kids around the world watch the popular know and now demand for Dora cakes from their mothers. Dora cake recipe is easy and can be made with few ingredients. A very easy dora cake recipe could be making pancakes using flour, milk and eggs. The pancakes can then be layered with a fruit jam and served to your kid.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Wheat flour or maida 3/4 cup
  2. Suga 1/2 cup
  3. Baking powder 1/4 tsp
  4. Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  5. Curd 1/4 cup
  6. Milk 2tbsp
  7. Oil or butter 2 tbsp
  8. Jam of choice

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and mix all ingredients except jam.
  2. After mixing the batter should be a little runny
  3. Heat a nonstick pan on low flame.
  4. Then spread the batter on a heated non-stick griddle / pan.
  5. Cover it with a lid for 1 minute.
  6. Then flip it and cook it from both sides.
  7. After ready, cut it into two parts and spread jam in the center
  8. Instant pancake or Dora cake is ready.
