Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Maida - 1kg
  2. Cabbage- 2
  3. Carrots - 2
  4. Onions - 2 to 3
  5. Garlic - 6 to 7
  6. Soya sauce - 3 tspn
  7. Black pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
  8. Salt
  9. Green chillies - 2 to 4
  10. Refined oil - 6 tspn


  1. For the stuffing:
  2. Chop the cabbage, carrots, onions and ginger in a chopper. You can chop them separately.
  3. Boil the chopped cabbage till one boil so that it becomes soft and also it's safe to do to remove any germs.
  4. Sieve the cabbage properly so that no water is left. Let it dry and cool for 5 min .
  5. Now heat refined oil in a kadhai, add the chopped veggies along with chopped green chillies. Saute them for 5 min
  6. Add pepper powder and soya sauce and mix. Do not add too much of sauce as we need dry mixture.
  7. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool. Once it cools down, then add salt. If salt is added before, it will leave water. In order to prevent this, we add salt later when the mixture cools down.
  8. Meanwhile the stuffing is allowed to cool, take maida, add salt, refined oil and make a dough using water. Since salt is added is both places, add accordingly.
  9. Now make small round shape using the dough. Add the filling. And make in the form of modak
  10. You can also make in the form of gujiyas and join the ends. It will appear as shown in the picture.
  11. Boil water in a steamer or any container. Take a sieve and brush ii with little oil or refined oil. Place the momos in it. Cover and cook for 5 to 10 min.
  12. Check if it's cooked. The color changes which is an indication.
  13. Veg momos are ready to serve with tomato ketchup.
