Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/2 kg Fish
  2. 2 medium onion finelly chopped
  3. 3 medium ripe tomato chopped finely
  4. few curry leaves
  5. Totapuri mango 1cut to pieces
  6. 1 cup semi thick tamrind juice
  7. 1 cup of water
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/2 tesp turmeric powder
  10. 3 tbsp red chilli powder
  11. 4 tbsp coriander powder
  12. 6 tbsp Oil
  13. Vadagam(sundried seasoned balls)a little.


  1. Place Kadai on medium heat add oil, put a little vadagam in it let splutter
  2. Add curry leaves and onions, saute till light brown
  3. Add tomatoes saute till mushy
  4. Now add turmeric,chilli and coriander powder stir,add salt and mix well
  5. Pour a cup of water and let boil.
  6. When it starts boiling add the chopped mangoes.
  7. Cook on low heat,till the mangoes are soft
  8. Now add in the tamarind juice let boil on medium heat
  9. After 2 to 3 minutes of boiling add the fish,let boil till the oil floats .
  10. Remove let it remain covered for 2 to 3 hours,to get the right flavour.
  11. Serve with rice,idli or dosa..
