Everybody loves dahi bade and this is how i make this delicious snack at home for my loved ones.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1cup moong dal
  2. 1/2cup Urad dal
  3. Dahi [curd] - 2 cups
  4. Green chatni [ready made] - as required
  5. Dry mango chatni [ready made] - as required
  6. Salt
  7. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Rosted Jeera powder - 1/4 th tsp
  10. Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Oil for frying


  1. Wash and soak the dal in water for 4-5 hours. Strain the dal and make a paste of it using a mixer grinder. Take out the paste into a bowl, whisk it to aerate it.
  2. Now heat ample amount of oil in a wok, drop small dumplings of the batter made above to form the pakodas. Now add some salt in a bowl of water, strain the pakodas and drop them in the water bowl.
  3. Now let the pakodas soak in the water for few minutes and squeeze out the extra water from the pakodas , and add these into whisked curd, in a bowl.
  4. Now take a serving plate, add the pakodas, pour some more curd on top. Sprinkle red chilly powder and rest of the powdered masalas, along with the chutneys. serve chilled.
