Mangsher ghugni or Yellow Peas curry with minced meat is one of the authentic dishes in Bengali cuisine which is made of yellow peas cooked with mutton keema.Too good of a combo and definitely a delicacy.It is very popular among Bengalis and available in Several types. Ghugni is often served with Bong's Luchi,Paratha,Roti as well as Steamed Rice.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Dried yellow peas 3 cup
  2. Chopped Potato 3 medium size
  3. 2 sliced onion
  4. 2 Table spoon ginger-garlic paste
  5. 2 Table spoon turmeric powder
  6. 2 Table spoon corriander Powder
  7. 2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  8. 2 teaspoon black rock salt
  9. 2 teaspoon sugar
  10. 1 bay leaf
  11. 2 teaspoon green chillies
  12. 2 Table spoon minced meat (mutton)
  13. 3 Cup water
  14. Mustard oil 1 cup
  15. Sliced coconut

Instructions

  1. INGREDIENTS:OIL, TURMERIC POWDER,BAY LEAF,DRIED YELLOW PEAS,POTATO,ONION, GREEN CHILLIES, SALT,SUGAR
  2. 2 TSP GARAM MASALA POWDER, BLACK ROCK SALT, 2 TBSPCORRIANDER POWDER, GINGER-GARLIC PASTE,WATER 3 CUP
  3. INGREDIENTS: 2 TABLE SPOON MINCED MEAT OR MUTTON KEEMA
  4. WASH THE YELLOW PEAS&SOAK FOR AT LEAST 4 HRS, PRESSURE COOK THE PEAS & 3 CHOPPED POTATOES WITH SALT
  5. WAIT FOR 3 WHISTLES.
  6. HEAT OIL IN A PAN.ADD 1 BAY LEAF.ADD 2SLICED ONION& 2 TSP GREEN CHILLI, 2 TBSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE
  7. ADD 2 TBSP TURMERIC POWDER,2 TBSP CORRIANDER POWDER, 2 TBSP MINCED MEAT, ADD BOILED PEAS.STIR NICELY
  8. ADD 2 TSP SUGAR,SALT TO TASTE,3 CUP WATER.NOW ADD 3 CUP WATER.LET IT COME TO BOIL,COVER IT WITH LID.
  9. ADD SLICED COCONUT 1/2 CUP AND MIX WELL.
  10. NOW ADD 2 TSP BLACK ROCK SALT AND 2 TSP GARAM MASALA POWDER ON IT.
  11. MIX WELL FOR 2 MINS.
  12. NOW MANGSGER GHUGNI IS READY FOR SERVING.
  13. MANGSHER GHUGNI IS OFTEN SERVED WITH PARATHA, LUCHI, ROTI AS WELL AS WITH STEAMED RICE.
