  • Nirapara rice puttu powder
  • salt to taste
  • Puttu cooking vessel

How to make Puttu

  1. I HAVE USED THE NIRAPARA PUTTU POWDER. THE REGULAR WHITE PUTTU POWDER. ADDED SALT.
  2. KEEP ADDING WATER LITTLE BY LITTLE AND MAKE A ROUGH THICK CONSISTENCY
  3. WHEN YOU PRESS THE POWDER IT SHOULD BE STIFF. SHOULD NOT FALL DOWN UNTIL YOU SCATTER THEM.
  4. I AM USING THE PUTTU VESSEL, A POT WITH WATER BOILING INSIDE TO STEAM THE PUTTU.
  5. INTO THE PUTTU COOKING VESSEL, I AM LAYERING THE COCONUT AND THE RICE POWDER IN ALTERNATE FASHION.
  6. THAT IS THE LONG PUTTU COOKING VESSEL,INSIDE WHICH I HAVE ADDED THE PROPER SIEVE TO SAVETHE STUFFING
  7. I AM PLACING THE PUTTU COKING VESSEL ON THE STEAMER POT.
  8. IT TAKES SOME 15 - 20 MINUTES, FOR THE PUTTU TO GET COOKED.
  9. THE PUTTU IS BEAUTIFULLY COOKED. STEAMED PERFECT ENOUGH.
  10. WE CAN DE MOULD THE PUTTU IMMEDIATELY. AND CAN BE SERVED HOT.
  11. THEY ARE READY TO EAT WITH GOOD SPRINKLE OF SUGAR AND SPICY KADALA CURRY OR BANANA.
