Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. urad dal 1 cup
  2. Green chilly 6
  3. Garlic 4 pod
  4. Cumin seed 1 tsp
  5. Salt 1 tsp
  6. Curd 2.5 cup
  7. Sugar 3/4 cup
  8. Cumin seed one teaspoon
  9. whole coriander seed one teaspoon
  10. Whole red chilli 3
  11. Chopped coriander leaves
  12. Oil for frying


  1. soak urad dal for 6 hours in water.
  2. drain it and grind into a fine paste with 3 to4 teaspoon of water
  3. grind green chillies, garlic and cumin, make chutney.
  4. add chatni in urad dal paste.
  5. Mix well and beat it, keep rest for 2hours
  6. Later ad salt and fry vadas till golden.
  7. Soak fried vada in cold water for 5 minute.
  8. Whisk curd and sugar till dissolved.
  9. Press excess water from vada and put in curd.
  10. Let it rest for 1 hour to get soaked in curd.
  11. Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seed and whole red chilly.
  12. Make fine powder and sprinkle on dahivada.
  13. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and Serve chilled.
