Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dried Apricots. 250 gms
  2. Sugar. 1/4 cup
  3. Saffron - a pinch
  4. Almonds, pistachios and dried roses for garnishing


  1. Soak apricots overnight in water for 4 hrs.
  2. The apricots will plump up and will become beautifully golden.
  3. When apricots soaked completely in a sauce pan. Add apricots, crushed saffron and beautiful golden water and start cooking on low flame with the sauce pan covered.
  4. Cook the apricots well, till they can be mashed with a spoon.
  5. Add sugar keeping in mind that the apricots are already sweet and add only as much sugar required.
  6. Cook it further till the mixture comes together. It should be of a thick consistency.
  7. Chill it in a refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  8. Garnish with almonds, pistachios, flakes and dried rose petals.
  9. I have added khubani ka metha with my favourite icecream and chawal ki kheer / vrat kheer. Enjoy this Royal Hydrabadi Dessert.
