About Sol Kadi Recipe

Popular in Goa and the Konkan region of India, it is made from coconut milk and kokum. Usually eaten with rice or sometimes drunk after the meals

Sol Kadi

Ingredients to make Sol Kadi

  • 15 petals kokum
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 green chilly
  • salt to taste
  • Tempering: 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp rai & a few kadi leaves

How to make Sol Kadi

  1. Soak kokam in half cup warm water for 1 hour.
  2. In a blender add kokam, garlic & chilli & water in which soaked kokam
  3. Strain the mixture. Add salt & coconut milk. Mix all well till you get a creamy mix.
  4. Refrigerate & serve cold & sprinkle some corriander leaves.
  5. I also like to eat it with rice so in oil make a tempering of rai & kadhi leaf. Add this mix & give it a boil. Enjoy it with ghee rice.
