This is easy sweet recipe, prepared using dosa batter. You can prepare this for tiffin box and as tea time snack.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For dosa batter
  2. Raw rice - 1 glass
  3. Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  4. Salt - half pinch
  5. For stuffing
  6. Fresh coconut - 1 cup
  7. Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  8. Elachi - 3
  9. Ghee/ oil to Grease pan


  1. wash rice and urad dal in water 2-3 times and soak it for 3 hrs. Later grind it fine paste it like dosa batter.
  2. Arrange all ingredients
  3. Take a pan add jaggery boil till u get thread consistency.
  4. Add grated coconut and elachi powder mix it well.
  5. Mix it well till it become thick consistency.
  6. Take small amount of above and moulds into small balls.
  7. Keep ponganala pan on heat heat it for a min then add 1/2 tsp ghee.
  8. Add 1/4 tsp batter in the hole
  9. Add coconut jaggery ball in the middle.
  10. Now pour batter on the above.
  11. Proceed the same for remaining and close the lid for 2 minutes on low flame
  12. Open the lid and turn the ponganalu other side and fry it on other side
  13. Take above in plate and proceed the same for remaining batter.
  14. Yummy and tasty kobbari Bellamy ponganalu is ready to serve.
