ABOUT No Oil Aloo Posto / Potatoes cooked with Poppy seeds paste RECIPE

A quick recipe using two Bengali favourites - the aloo and the posto. Oil free too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. potatoes - 2 medium sized , peeled and cubed
  2. Posto paste - 5 tbsp
  3. Fresh green chillies - 2 or 3
  4. salt - to taste
  5. Water - to cook the potatoes

Instructions

  1. Place the potatoes with water in a kadahi with a little salt. Cover and cook till they are done.
  2. Remove cover and add the posto paste and the green chillies. Add a little water if necessary. Check for salt.
  3. Give a good mix, cover and cook till all water is soaked up.
  4. Remove from heat and let it stand covered for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
