ABOUT Arbi / Kacchaloo Tuk RECIPE

Traditional Sindhi delicacy . Could be served with rice and Doris as accompaniments or as a plain snack for tea time .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Arbi/ Colocasia 1/2 kg Boiled and skin peeled
  2. Oil for deep frying
  3. Salt 1.5 teaspoon or as preferred
  4. Dry mango powder 3/4 teaspoon
  5. Chaat masala 1.5 teaspoons
  6. Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  7. Coriander powder 1 /2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take boiled . skin peeled , drained arbis.
  2. Cut them into slices and keep aside open for 5 minutes .
  3. Heat oil in a wok for deep frying .
  4. Drop the Arbis one by one in the hot oil . Fry them in medium heat till golden .
  5. Take out the golden arbis and place it on tissue paper .
  6. Gently press every arbi to take out excess oil .
  7. Likewise gently press every arbi and keep aside .
  8. In the same oil , drop the Arbis back and fry again till golden brown .
  9. Take the golden brown Arbis in a plate .
  10. Sprinkle all the dry powders and salt while Arbil is hot . Mix immediately without smashing .
  11. Sindhi Arbi Tuk is ready to serve .
  12. Serve hot .
