Atta Halwa

Ingredients to make Atta Halwa

  • Half kg wheat flour
  • 250gm fine sugar
  • 250 pure ghee (gowardhan is what I use)
  • Blanched and cut almonds
  • water as consistency desired

How to make Atta Halwa

  1. Take preferably a heavy bottom pan or kadai and heat ghee well.
  2. In this hot ghee add all the flour and stir in well lower the flame and keep stirring n roasting the flour well till its Pinkish brown in color.
  3. Now add the sugar stir in well for 5 to 10 min.
  4. Add water just to cover flour mix well and little more, kp stirring in well to avoid lumps.
  5. Let this cook at least ten to fofteen min so sugar dissolves well n no crunch felt.
  6. This starts to bubble at it cooks so be careful of splutters.
  7. Stir well as it starts leaving the kadai sides and its not sticky.
  8. Now put of flame remove in a bowl garnish with Chopped Almonds.
  9. Enjoy as desert and healthy for Ramzan Iftar, stays well 3-4 Days.

My Tip:

Use luke warm water not cold Serve hot Do hot reheat in microven much it dries ups and looses texture.
