ABOUT Khandvi (from leftover kadhi) RECIPE

It is a mouth watering traditional Gujarati snack prepared with gram flour and buttermilk and seasoned with sautéed sesame seeds and few other spices. It’s not only easy to make but also healthy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Kadhi 2 cup
  2. Gram flour 1/2 cup
  3. Curry Leaves 7-8
  4. Green Chilli 2 nos
  5. For tadka
  6. Oil 1 tbsp
  7. Musturd Seeds 1/2 tsp
  8. Seseme Seeds 1/2 tsp
  9. Shreded Coconut for garnishing
  10. Coriander for garnishing
  11. Red Chilli Powder for sprinkling


  1. Strain the kadhi.
  2. Add the besan.
  3. Add this batter in a pan and cook it till it thickens.
  4. Grease the surface.
  5. Add the batter and flatten it with the help of scraper.
  6. Let it sit.
  7. Then cut then into small pieces and roll it.
  8. To make the tempering,heat the oil and add all the ingredients mentioned for tempering.
  9. Then add this to the khandvi.
  10. Your tempting khandvi is ready.
