Ingredients to make chakli with leftover dal

  • 1/2 cup leftover dal
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp gram flour
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp carom seeds
  • 1/4 Tsp asafoetida
  • water (if required)
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make chakli with leftover dal

  1. in a grinder, grind dal properly to give it a smooth paste like consistency
  2. now take a bowl, add crushed dal and all the remaining ingrediants except water
  3. mix well
  4. if required, sprinkle some water and make a smooth dough
  5. take the chakli maker with attachment and grease with oil
  6. fill the chakli maker with dough and prepare spiral shaped chaklis by pressing the machine
  7. heat oil in a kadai
  8. when oil becomes medium hot, reduce the flame to low
  9. add 3-4 chaklis at a time into the oil and fry on low-medium flame till they turn crispy from both sides
  10. remove the chaklis from oil and drain on the absorbent paper
  11. serve or store in an air tight container after it becomes cool
