ABOUT Butter Masala Pasta stuffed Buns RECIPE

This is what happens when indian food meets the italian food. Butter Masala gravy is everyone's favourite. This gravy is mix of indian and italian spices. These pasta filled buns are topped with cheese and it makes a very tasty brunch for weekends. HAPPY COOKING!!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups fusilli pasta
  2. 6 tomatoes chopped
  3. 1 Onion
  4. 1 tbsp Garlic chopped
  5. 1/2 cup bell peppers chopped
  6. 1 cup grated cheese(for buns) (mozzarella/cheddar)
  7. 1 tbsp dried italian herbs
  8. 1 tsp Oregano
  9. 1 tsp chilli flakes
  10. 1 tsp olive oil
  11. 2 tbsp Butter
  12. 8 buns
  13. 1/4 tsp garlic powder(for buns)
  14. 1 tbsp butter (for buns)
  15. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a deep vessel with salt and 1 tsp oil and when water starts boiling add fusilli pasta and cook till al-dente (just cooked).
  2. Drain in a colander and rinse with water and keep aside.
  3. In a pan add 1 tbsp olive oil and add onions and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add bell peppers and saute for a minute.
  5. Now add tomatoes and saute for 5 minutes to make them little mushy. Keep aside to cool a little.
  6. Now nicely blend together all onions, bell peppers and tomatoes in a blender.
  7. In a pan, heat oil and butter and saute garlic and then add chilli flakes.
  8. Now add in the blended paste and add salt, dried Italian herbs and oregano and mix nicely.
  9. Cook the sauce till little thick.
  10. Take out little sauce from the pan and keep aside to apply in the inside of the buns.
  11. Now switch off the gas and add in your boiled pasta and mix nicely.
  12. Now take buns and make them hollow from the centre by keeping the bottom intact.
  13. Apply butter mixed with some garlic powder.
  14. Pour some prepared sauce on the inside of the buns and spread nicely.
  15. Now add in your prepared pasta into the buns by pressing gently.
  16. Finally cover the top with grated cheese nicely.
  17. Bake these buns in the preheated oven for 5 minutes at 180 degrees or till cheese melts.
