ABOUT Tomato Rasam !!! RECIPE

A very easy and tasty rasam that can be had as a soup on a rainy or cold day....

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Ripe red tomatoes - 2 big ones(chopped small)
  2. Rasam powder - 3 tspn
  3. Mustard Seeds- 1 tspn
  4. Jeera - 1/4 tspn
  5. Curry leaves - few
  6. Garlic cloves - 4 to 5 finely chopped
  7. Black pepper powder- 1/4 tspn
  8. Red Kashmiri chilly powder- 1/4 tspn(optional)
  9. Tamarind water- little(optional)
  10. Coriander leaves for garnish
  11. Ghee- 1 tspn
  12. Water - 2 cups
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil - 1 tbspn

Instructions

  1. Take a pan .....Heat it ....put oil...And when hot add mustard seeds
  2. After it splutters put jeera and chopped garlic and curry leaves
  3. Saute it for 2 minutes
  4. Then add chopped tomatoes... Saute again till soft
  5. Then add all the dry masala powders...And salt....Mix well.
  6. Pour tamarind water if you want .... and the 2 cups of water....
  7. Bring to boil....Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes
  8. Then turn off the gas....put ghee.... Garnish with coriander leaves...
  9. Serve hot ...
  10. Enjoy on a rainy day
