ABOUT MASALA TOMATO RECIPE

A yummy gravy curry goes very well with pulavs, biryanis, rotis etc

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. two spoon groundnut
  2. one spoon gingelly (til)
  3. half spoon poppy seeds
  4. two big ripe tomatoes
  5. eight small ripe tomatoes
  6. two spoon oil
  7. half spoon mustard
  8. half spoon jeera
  9. salt to taste
  10. pinch of turmeric
  11. three green chillies slit
  12. one cup finely chopped onion
  13. ginger garlic paste
  14. one spoon chilly powder
  15. half spoon jeera dhania powder
  16. half spoon garam masala
  17. one spoon kasuri methi
  18. chopped coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. First dry roast groundnut, gingelly and poppy seeds. Grind to powder after cooling
  2. put the big tomatoes in boiling water for few minutes and puree it
  3. Heat oil in wok , add mustard, jeera,salt, slit green chillies and fry till golden brown
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, half cup water, tomato purée and allow it to boil
  5. Slit the small tomatoes on four sides and add
  6. Now add the ground masala, jeera dhania powder and crushed kasuri methi
  7. Allow it to boil for few minutes till oil oozes out. At this stage add garam masala powder
  8. dish out and garnish
