Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. INGREDIENTS
  2. Corn flour- 1/4 cup
  3. Maida- 1/4 cup
  4. Green chillies- 4
  5. Sugar- 2 cups
  6. Water- 1 cup
  7. Ghee- 5 tblsp
  8. Cashews- 10 nos
  9. Cardamom- 3 nos (1/4 tsp powdered)

Instructions

  1. Slit green chillies and remove seeds.In a wide pan heat 1/4 cup water with 1 tsp sugar.
  2. Add slitted chillies and boil for 5 mins.Then remove chillies and let it come down to room temperature.
  3. Again boil chillies in sugar water 3 to 4 times till chillies turn to pale colour. Drain water and let the chillies come down to room temperature.
  4. Grind chillies to little coarse paste.
  5. In the mean time mix cornflour,2cup sugar and maida to 1 cup of water without any lumps.
  6. Add ground chilli paste to flour mix water.Heat ghee in a wide pan and add flour mixture, heat in low flame till the mixture starts thickening.Add cardamom powder, cashews and mix well.
  7. Keep mixing till the halwa leaves the sides and form a soft mass.I want cake consistency, so boiled for little thick consistency.
  8. Once oil starts leaving sides, you can remove the halwa at any consistency as per your desire.When done, remove from flame and spread it in greased plate evenly.
  9. When halwa cools down to room temperature, slice and serve.
