Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Yogurt - 1 and half cup
  2. Besan  - 2 tbsp
  3. Ginger - 1/2 tsp finely grated
  4. Garlic - 1/2 tsp finely grated
  5. Green chilli - 1 finely sliced
  6. Dry red chilli - 2 finely sliced
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  9. sugar - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - as required
  11. Water - 2 and half cup
  12. For tempering:
  13. Ghee - 2 tsp
  14. mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  15. cumin seeds  - 1/2 tsp
  16. Dry red chillies - 2
  17. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  18. Cloves - 4
  19. Hing - a pinch
  20. Curry leaves - few
  21. Onion - 2 tsp - finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Add the yogurt, besan, ginger, garlic, Green chilli, red chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sugar and salt in a pot.
  2. By adding water little by little mix everything well and ensure there are no lumps.
  3. Place the pot on medium heat and bring it to a boil, stir it continuously.
  4. Cook the kadhi in low flame until the kadhi gets simmer.
  5. Heat the ghee in another pan and add the items listed for tempering.
  6. Once the onion colour turns to red, add this to the Kadhi pot.
  7. Let the kadhi continue to simmer for another 5 minutes and stir it occasionally.
  8. Serve hot with rice.
