ABOUT Gluten free Egg porridge/halwa RECIPE

An excellent way to include the necessary nutrients in your kid’s meal; in a way he/she will like it! This is a sweet dry porridge; however the consistency can be altered keeping the age of your kid in mind

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1 large egg
  2. 2 Tablespoon cornflour
  3. 1 tablespoon clarified butter/ghee
  4. 1 piece whole green cardamom slightly crushed
  5. 150 mili litres of plain milk
  6. 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  7. 1 pinch saffron strands
  8. 1 tablespoon mixed sliced nuts/ powdered nuts

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg well in a large bowl
  2. Once done, all the ingredients into the bowl, except saffron
  3. Whisk well once again while you set a non stick pan/ a deep heavy bottom saucepan to heat
  4. Once all the ingredients are well combined, add the mix into the saucepan
  5. Keep mixing constantly on medium heat initially
  6. Add the saffron and powdered nuts (if using) at this stage
  7. As the halwa gets thicker, reduce heat and keep cooking to desired consistency on Low heat
  8. Take off heat once a scrambled egg kinda consistency is reached
  9. Discard the cardamom piece and Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with sliced nuts
  10. infants/babies can have this halwa a little liquidy after cooking completely, while toddlers can have it slightly thicker and warm
